The Japanese Government has been trying to gain attention in producing Green cars. Green Cars can be considered as good conventional vehicles. They can offer the automakers a hope of re-energizing a dwindling market.

The government is also trying boost sales of green cars with a tax reduction. This idea was mainly to promote cars that consume less fuel.

Automakers have seen a boost in domestic hybrid sales. This was primarily due to government subsidies for consumers buying fuel-efficient cars.

The new Prius features solar panels to power its ventilation system. It also uses a 1.8 liter gas engine with an electric water pump. The car is suitable for short distances. The main advantage is that it can operate as a normal hybrid when the battery runs out of power.

A Nissan based green car the manufacturers were stimulated to improve their engine lineup. Only six models from Japan’s No. 3 automaker used to be eligible for the eco tax breaks. But now the lineup now includes almost 15 models.

Nissan’s vehicles do have a seventy five percent reduction. Thus, they have become more attractive to the buyers than other manufacturers! The company report says that the sales of green cars manufactured by it went up by 30 percent. Similar figures were given by Toyota and other companies too.

Gasoline is a refined product. It is the largest single volume sold in the United States. It counts up to half of national oil consumption.

Reformulated gasoline blend stock shortly called RBOB is a gasoline. It can be used for oxygen blending. It is used in the place of MTBE from the time it is banned an additive to gasoline. Unleaded gas future contracts are the energy future of all of the petroleum distillates.

NYMEX RBOB Gasoline futures open interest that has increased up to 9.2 percent in May.

Commercial participants have accounted for 67.5 percent of open interest. By this they have held net short positions. Moreover, they decreased their long positions by 1.4 percent and increased their short positions by 11.4 percent.

Unleaded Gasoline Options:

There are two types of Unleaded Gasoline options namely the calls and puts.

A call gives the rights to a buyer to buy unleaded gas futures at a specific price for a specific period of time. But he does not have the obligation! Similarly, a put gives the rights to a buyer to sell unleaded gas futures at a specific for a specific period of time. (not the obligation)

The call or a put concept can be related to the insurance. Buying or selling a call or put is very much equivalent to purchasing an insurance policy.

With a put or call one can protect himself against an unleaded gasoline increase or decrease. To protect yourself against the risk of a unleaded gas futures price increase, a you may purchase a call. To protect against an unleaded gas futures price decrease, similarly, you may buy a put.

If cash market prices do not move in an adverse direction, an options buyer forfeits only his premium. On the other case, a buyer is otherwise able to participate fully in any favorable price move. An options seller collects the premium and if the option expires without being exercised, the options seller profits by the amount of the premium.

Alternative fuels are also known as non-conventional fuels. They are materials or substances that can be used as fuels that are not the conventional fuels. Conventional fuels can be produced from fuel sources like bio diesel, bio alcohol hydrogen, vegetable oil and biomass sources.

Hydrogen technology is considered as the greatest bridge for the automotive industry in the present scenario. Undoubtedly, hydrogen is a realistic alternative to the world’s present wide-scale use of hydrocarbon fuels. Future would really visualize a green hydrogen car. This might achieve 99 miles per gallon emission-free.

Bio diesel is an alternative fuel for the normal diesel engine since it is more environmentally friendly. Bio diesel fuel is otherwise called a drop-in replacement. Bio diesel can be used in any diesel engine without any modification.

Bio diesel helps to reduce pollutants and engine wear, according to proponents. It can be used either as a pure fuel or mixed with petroleum diesel.

E85 is also an alternative fuel source. It is a composition of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. These fuel sources can achieve high fuel mileage standards. But, E85 is rare to be found or extracted.

You can also use the remnant grounds of caffeine as an alternative fuel. Gasifying the reused grounds can convert them into a burnable fuel. Powering a car with wood is something like running your vehicles on fossil fuels.
